About This Item

Vancouver: Raincoast Books , 1998. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Inscribed by Author upon the title, '24 November 1998, To Russell with memories of a rainy Vancouver evening! Barbara Hodgson.' 2 inch tear along the jacket front hinge, very little wear besides. Jacket in Brodart for preservation. Text is clean. 'Helen Martin is a scholar of antique anatomical illustration. She knows the human body inside and out. But she doesn't know her own body anymore, because Helen is, quite literally, losing her senses. Sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste; all are disappearing. And she has started hallucinating - for surely it is a hallucination - that her body is being replaced, piece by piece, with someone else's.'.
