About This Item
Londres et Paris, 1935. Rebound in three-quarter imitation leather, patterned paper boards. Very good. 8vo. 214pp. Darling is a reprint of an erotic novel published originally at Amsterdam in 1892 by Auguste Brancart. It formed the first volume of a trilogy, all with the general title ‘Le Sérail Royal,' the other two being called La Belle Letty and Histoire de Rosy. This volume presents something of a bibliographical challenge. In almost all respects it would seem to be part of the same printing of this trilogy as Stormgart #39839 and #39840, even down to the typographical device or decoration on the titlepage. However, the imprint is quite different. One may suspect a printer's blunder.
