"Kurt Edelmann's aim was not so much to produce a manual or complete history of the Oriental carpet as to survey the entire field of study and to clarify some of the complex problems relating to carpets, thus providing a new basis for an understanding of the whole subject" (publisher). Profusely illustrated with in-text b/w photographs and 20 color plates of carpets. Includes chapter on carpets of unusual shape. Two Either/Or bookmarks laid in. DJ rubbed with light wear along edges, small tear at head of spine. Light wear along edges of binding and yellowing in margins of block, not affecting images. Previous owner's names inked to free front endpaper, small smudge. DJ in overall good, interior in good+ to very good condition.
