This copy signed by both Fred and Geoffrey Hoyle on the front blank fly-leaf (no other marks or inscriptions). Hoyle famously coined the term 'Big Bang' to describe the origin of the universe, a theory he was originally opposed to. Besides being a great populariser of cosmology and astronomy, his work on the mechanism of the sun and other stars is of particular importance to the understanding of the universe. He wrote a number of science fiction works, most famously 'A for Andromeda' and 'The Black Cloud', some, like this one, were co-written with his son Geoffrey. Books signed by him are increasingly elusive __CONDITION : A well preserved FINE very clean and tight copy (merest hint of tanning to leaves) in an almost AS NEW complete Dust Jacket (very faintly dusty, looks new in its removable transparent protector).
