Small damp mark bubble on back board but no damp stains on endpaper or interior. Illustrated dustjacket is price clipped; crease on bottom front and sunning on back and damp staining on inside of dustjacket. Colour and B&W plates from photos (one side only), illustration (facsimile) and decorative illustrations. Boldly signed in black marker on title page by Messner. Text block is clean and tight. Very good condition. Neate M90. Author's first book with accounts of his early Alpine climbs and training. 1974
