Larger, sturdy book, quality black cloth, bright gilt author's name with line design at top front, very bright gilt lettering on spine, gold color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 278 stiffer pages, many photo portraits of writers throughout. On first front end paper in beautiful black ink calligraphy: "Eric, with greetings. John B.," with flourish. DJ beneath mylar, blue background to front and back, six small photographs of famous writers at top front, yellow and white lettering, a photograph close-up of Brinnin on all of back. DJ has light surface wear to spine top and bottom edges, light crease at top back with tiny nick. Near Fine DJ/Very Fine book.
