SIGNED by the Author on the title page, 8vo, quarter black cloth with gold lettering on spine over black boards, archival mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) depicting a shadowy train on trestle, 318 pages. Larry Millett (born 1947) is an American journalist and author. A former architectural critic and author in St. Paul, Minnesota, he has also written a series of Sherlock Holmes mysteries set in the United States and Minnesota during the 1890s. The books feature Shadwell Rafferty, who assists Holmes. This novel deals with a visit Holmes and Watson made in 1894 to investigate a murderous arsonis in St. Paul, Minnesota. SIGNED & in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION in all respects. Printing number ends in "1." No remainder marks!
