This beautifully illustrated copy of the Scottish Poet William Falconer's The Shipwreck details Falconer's concern with life at sea. This attractive copy of William Falconer's epic poem The Shipwreck is the epitome of his concentration on life at sea. The semi-autobiographical work details the horrors of a shipwreck but also the management of a merchant vessel. Including a Memoir of Falconer, who was a Scottish epic poet, and beautifully delicate illustrations throughout the text. In the Publisher's original red binding. Externally, well presented but the spine is discoloured with bumping to the head and tail of the spine as well as to the extremities. Slight discolouration to the joints and some marks to the front and back boards. Rear hinge is starting. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright with some scattered spots throughout. Very Good
