With publisher's pamphlet laid in. Signed by Morris West on the third free endpaper, with tissue guard. Fine; never read. Ribbon bookmark is, in fact, still in its original position. Large octavo, 303 pp.; Franklin's lavish leather binding of West's 1963 classic tale of internal intrigue in the Vatican - the best-sell in novel in America that year - which in 1960 was committed to the big screen in a film starring Laurence Olivier, Anthony Quinn and a passel of other cinema. See scans. Full black leather, gilt decorated and imprinted, spine panels rib divided, All Edges Gilt, purple silk moire endpapers with matching purple page-marker ribbon. The Franklin Library, doing what they did best. Superbly preserved. With the author's "A Special Message to Subscribers from Morris L.
