A collection of twelve of Jacobs' best short stories, including 'The Changeling', 'Mixed Relations', 'Alf's Dream' and  'Angels' Visits'.Written by William Wymarck Jacobs (1863-1943), an prolific short story writer and author of comic and horror fiction. His best-known short story, 'The Monkey's Paw' is an influential piece of horror fictiona dn has been adapted numerous times across stage, radio and screen.Illustrated with thirty-eight plates by Will Owen. A first edition of this work.Bound in the jovial original pictorial cloth. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn, with bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities; some wear to the boards, including a small abrasion to the front board. Internally, generally firmly bound, with the binding exposed past the front endpaper. Text block has split at pages 128 and page 193, exposing the binding. Pages have the odd spot, but are generally bright and clean. Good Only
