About the author

D.J. Scott is a retired Navy Reserve medical officer. He served most of his career supporting Marine Corps units. In 2003 he was mobilized at the start of the Iraq War and served with the Marine Corps First Medical Battalion.

He also has a degree in history and has studied and taught nuclear weapons policy. He currently lives in Minnesota.
