All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Book sits solid and sharp with all corners sharp. Five full page sepia coloured illustrations throughout including the frontispiece. A very nice copy indeed. Housed in the illustrated dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Dustwrapper protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Lawrence George Durrell (1912 - 1990) was an expatriate British novelist, poet, dramatist, and travel writer, though he resisted affiliation with Britain and preferred to be considered cosmopolitan. Although Durrell spent much of his life beside the Mediterranean, he wrote relatively little about Italy. It was always somewhere that he was passing through on the way to somewhere else.
