About This Item

Boulder, CO: Pruett Publishing, 1973. First edition First printing. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Number 263 of 750 numbered copies signed by Ferrell. For 60 years the trains of the Rio Grande Southern Railroad carried the economy of the San Juans. 643 pages of text, photographs, maps and rosters. Employee time table and system map in rear pocket. Bound in original red buckram with lettering stamped in gilt. Fine in fine price clipped dust jacket [all dust jackets of the limited issue clipped the price of the trade issue] a little rough along head and heel of the spine panel and two tiny chips from sliding in and out of the fine example of the publisher's slipcase. The dust jacket is now protected in a clear mylar sleeve. A bright attractive copy.
