Sir John Gielgud (1904-2000) was considered (along with his friend Laurence Olivier) one of the 20th century's finest actors of stage and screen. Richard Mangan has chosen for this book nine hundred letters which span a period of eighty years and in which Gielgud recounts and reflects on experiences and events.
