Davis, 1746. 1st English ed. 88 pp. Bound together in contemporary calf-backed marbled boards. Former owner's name stamp on title page and his marginal notes throughout; binding worn and outer joints starting, else a good copy. Published in the same year as the Dublin editions. George Berkeley was Bishop of Cloyne an is renowned for his works in the philosphy of perception. He endorsed tar water as an almost universal remedy.
