Text is clean, pages are no longer white and crisp, but have aged toned with time. Binding is tight and solid. Very limited wear to spine head; otherwise, no corner or edge wear issues. Scandalous for the time; a young lady's reputation would be ruined by spending the night with a man while touring the battlefields [of France] and they are entombed in an abandoned dug-out by an explosion.
