New York: G. P. Putnam, 1859. Irving's famous collection, including 'Rip Van Winkle' and 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow', in a decent 150-year-old edition. Volume 2 only of Irving's 'Collected Works'. Full green pebbled cloth, gilt titling and decoration, all edges gilt. Corners bumped, worn & frayed, short tears at the frayed spine ends; gift inscription on first blank, different name on series title page, binder's ticket (Geo. W. Alexander, New York) inside rear cover, discoloration on a few pages from an ancient four-leaf clover, still laid in. Text clean; 465 pages, finely engraved frontispiece portrait and vignette.. Later Printing. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 5½" by 8".

I have found another volume of this same book in similiar condition. I have only read the preface at this time, however it is very interesting because it is written in the old enlish style of the day. very unique to read the language and phrases of the time
