Henry Colburn, 1818. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition. Pages; X, (2), 466 + 10 sheets of publisher's adverts. Dimensions; 235 by 150mm. Paper covered boards, lacks the paper on the spine, covers detached. The text is complete, the page edges are uncut, toning to the pages, toning and marking to the title. Ex Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, their stamp on the title page, Arthur Jacobs bequest stamp at the foot of the title. Thomas Charles Morgan 1783-1843, advert for 2 of his wife's books opposite the title page (the novelist Lady Morgan). Contains; character and causes of organic combination, of organization, of the combination of organs and function, of the laws of vital action, mental phenomena, phenomena of disease. Also with loosely inserted 1833 3 page advert for Norton's Camomile Pills, with 1 page of ads on the rear for Godfrey's Extract of Elder Flowers, Simco's Gout and Rheumatic Pills and Simco's Essence of Linseed.
