NY: Vanguard Press; (1945). First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. First printing of the author's first book, very good in a poor dust jacket. The book has a very slight spine lean, and a few small water drops have faded the red topstain in those small areas. There is a small piece of paper glued to the rear pastedown which is the size of a bookplate, but is completely white. The jacket is lacking the spine, but almost all of both panels and all of the flaps are preserved in a Brodart protector. $2.50 price is present at bottom of front flap. A scarce debut by this popular author.
