Non-English language words are underlined in the text as part of the printing process. From page 3: "Viet Nam is a land whose features change dramatically within very short distance, from mountains and high plateaus to coastal plains and inland swamps... The delta village chosen for this particular study bears the name of Khanh Hau, and is located approximately 50 kilometers south of Saigon in the province of Long An, not far from the chief provincial town of Tan An... The land is the heavy, black clay of the delta, stretching flat in all directions... The chief village occupation is wet rice agriculture, carried on by methods which, with a few exceptions, have changed but little over the centuries." Ex-library with typical treatments.
