Decorated with hand-coloured engravings by Claud Lovat Fraser. 8vo, original decorated grey sugar-paper wrappers. 23. Very fresh, bright, and well preserved, with just slight chipping to the hinge. LARGE PAPER ISSUE OF THIS WONDER LOVAT FRASER ITEM. The thunder of battles both earthly and heavenly resound in this rhythmic testament to heroism and the wonder of things greater than oneself: “I stood and stared; the sky was lit,The sky was stars all over it,I stood, I knew not why, Without a wish, without a will,I stood upon that silent hillAnd stared into the sky untilMy eyes were blind with stars and stillI stared into the sky.” The lovely and subtle decorations by Lovat Fraser make for a particularly nice presentation.
