[6.75x5in]; 142 pp., Deep maroon cloth cover with yellow lettering on front, off white paper with poems and prayers on front and back end papers, all edges trimmed; Some shelf wear to edges, corners and covers, age toning to paper quality [due to wartime restrictions in paper production]. This book was originally issued in 1941 through a private publisher. This is a second printing of the book in 1942 by the United States Government Printing Office. The book was developed to be used by military chaplains for services on ships and in the field. It provide instructions for Protestant, Catholic and Jewish services, popular Christian songs with an index of first lines, and instructions on the order of military funerals.
