Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1954. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/fair. 438p octavo, illustrations by the author. Inscribed by the author "To Doris and Allen from their old friend Guy Murchie January 2, 1955 Look Away, Georgia" Doris Hinkley Lockerman ws aChicago Tribune reporter after being a secretary and "gate keeper" for Melvin Purvis , FBI agent who ended the careers of John Dillinger, and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd. At age 95 she assisted Mr Puvis' son Alston Purvis a Boston Univ professor in researching his book"Vendetta: FBI Hero Melvin Purvis's war Against Crime, and J Edgar Hoover's War Against Him". She later worked for the Atlanta Cnstitution and wrote numerous books on Georgia history. A very good copy in a very worn and chipped dust jacket.
