Octavo, pp. xiii, [1], 173, [1]. With 8 colour full page plates by Estella Canziani and additional black and white illustrations. Bound in quarter vellum and pale blue paper over publisher's boards, gilt fillet to vellum edge, gilt titles to spine, all edges uncut. With the original publisher's cream dust-jacket. Dust-jacket lightly faded to spine, slightly finger-marking with some miniscule nicks to top edge. A fine copy in a near fine dust-jacket. An excellent copy of this charming illustrated edition of De La Mare's first published work. Many of the pages unopened, the book appears unread and is a rare survival in the original 1923 dust-jacket. Boldly signed by De La Mare to the limitation leaf.
