Moira O'Neill" was the pseudonym of Agnes Shakespear Higginson (1864–1955), an Irish-Canadian poet who wrote ballads and other verse inspired by County Antrim, Ireland where she lived at Cushendun. Her Wikipedia entry says that, in 1895, "she and her husband Walter Skrine lived on a 16,500 acre ranch in Alberta. But they returned to Ireland and were, in 1921, burned out of their mansion Ballyrankin House near Bunclody." O'Neill also used the name Nesta. Songs of the Glens of Antrim was first published in 1900 and then More Songs of the Glens of Antrim followed in 1921. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and sturdy. Brown paper over bords, barely abraded paper label to front cover and spine. Lightly foxed at first free endpaper, else clean and unmarked of interior. Rough-cut fore- and bottom-edges. The publisher notes that the title was "Originally contributed to Blackwood's Magazine and the Spectator, "these Songs of the Glens of Antrim were written by a Glenswoman in the dialect of the Glens, and chiefly for the pleasure of the other Glens-people." 61 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
