About This Item

New York: Farrar & Rinehart, (1942). First Edition. First Printing Very good+ in red cloth covered boards with black text and decorations on the spine and front board. A quarto measuring 12 by 9 inches with bits of the verso of the dust jacket adhered to the front board; otherwise, near fine. In a good price clipped dust jacket with rubbing and wear to all folds, a number of closed tears which have been repaired with scotch tape on the verso side and with the spine and front panel generally faded. Although part of the Rivers of America series, this book is considerably larger than the format for the others in the series. It is also the most difficult to locate in collectible condition. 196 pages including indexes of both titles and first lines. There are no prior ownership markings of any kind in this copy.
