Book Condition: Very good with only minor shelf wear. Spine very slightly cocked. Pale green boards still bright and clean with just a little colour fade and some light soiling. Previous owner's name in pencil to ffep with a date of 1900. Top edge gilt still bright. Internally very clean. No dust jacket. Eleven black & white plates on gloss paper with illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith, Peter Newell and others. Titles stamped in gold with black & dark green decorations of acorns and oak leaves. Ruth McEnery Stuart (1849-1917) was a very popular American author of short stories and novels, set in the South and using local dialect. This is a sequel to her most famous work "Sonny".
