Speke travelled with Burton's expedition to Somailand, before a military interlude in the Crimea. He then joined Burton's second expedition in 1856, twice crossed lake Tanganyika by canoe and fianlly pressed on to the Ukerewe Lake which he thought to be the source of the Nile. In 1860 Speke led a new expedition which found the point at which the Nile flows out of Lake Victoria Nyanza.. Book Club. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo.
