Canada: Canadian Pacific Railway, 1939. 59 pp, 13 1/8" H. With single sheet (printed on both sides) "The Itinerary of the Royal Visit Across Canada" laid in at front. This souvenir of the King & Queen's visit begins with "Loyal Greetings" and a colour portrait of the royal couple in regalia, both with gilt borders, followed by Contents and Foreword. Each of the following sections have gilt, red, blue and white decorative headpieces and a full page colour reproduction of a government building by Charles W. Simpson, R.C.A. - except Northwest Territories which only has a decorative headpiece. The book ends with a double spread "Map of Canada with Itineary of Royal Tour" and "Biographical Notes on Contributors". The section headings are: Ottawa, by Duncan Campbell Scott; Nova Scotia, by Clara Dennis; Prince Edward Island, by L.M. Montgomery; New Brunswick, by Sir Charles G.D. Roberts; Quebec, by Robert Choquette; Ontario, by Katherine Hale; Manitoba, by W.T. Allison; Saskatchewan, by Mary Weekes; Alberta, by Robert J.C. Stead; British Columbia, by Nellie L. McClung; Yukon, by Mrs. George Black; Northwest Territories, by Philip H. Godsell. Interior - small area of surface paper loss in border of text page on verso of the title page, small corner crease on laid-in itinerary page, light browning/dust soiling on inside edges of covers. Exterior - light browning on spine and front cover, light to moderate soiling on covers - mainly on rear cover, small stains at bottom of front cover, small tears in spine at staples, small edge tears and edge wrinkling on covers..
