About This Item
London: Collins, 1969. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A bright first edition of this exciting novel by bestselling thriller writer Desmond Bagley. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Desmond Bagley (1923-1983) was an English journalist and novelist, best remembered for his bestselling thrillers. Bagley, Hammond Innes and Alistair MacLean established conventions for the thriller genre, including a tough, resourceful, but essentially ordinary hero. This novel involves a wealthy tycoon who is determined to infiltrate and bring down an international drug ring. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Dust wrapper is very smart, with a touch of sunning to the spine and light soiling to the rear of the wrap. Fine
