About the author

Stan Lee was a legendary American comics writer and editor and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. He conceived more billion-dollar franchises than any other creator. He was the writer of the Spider-Man syndicated newspaper strip, which appears in more than 500 newspapers worldwide, making it the longest-running superhero strip. Lee pioneered the how-to-draw comics category with the 1978 publication of the bestselling How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way and went on to author three other books on comics creation. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2008.
