The dust jacket features a full color photo of Venus and Serena Williams teaming up to play in a doubles match. The author, Stan Smith played in 11 Grand Slam finals and won 61 pro doubles titles. Smith was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987. He served as director of coaching for the USTA Player Development Program from 1988 to 1995 and was head coach of the men's US Olympic team at the 2000 Sydney games.
