About This Item

Knoxville: F.S. Heiskell, 1831. Hardcover. First Edition. 5.5 x 9in. 458pp. xlvi, index; 230pp. xvi, index. Bound in recent polished calf over marbled boards. Gilt titling. New endpapers. VERY GOOD. Vol. 1 shows extremely slight shelf rubbing of the edges, title page with a light unobtrusive institutional blind-stamp, otherwise is Fine with the text-block in exceptionally well maintained condition. Vol. 2 shows chipping from the margins of the title page, which have been neatly reenforced with acid-free transparent binder's tape, some pages with small chips from the margins, text-block evenly and naturally browned, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
