New York: Putnams, 1948. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Good. Small octavo (21 cm), pp. 182. Gray cloth with dark gray titling. Pictorial jacket. Sixteen black and white photographic plates. Gift inscription on front free endpaper and previous owner's initials and horseshoe stamp on half-title page. Light soiling to boards and minor bumping to spine ends. Jacket shows moderate chipping and soiling. Henry Bruns, in Angling Books of the Americas, calls this book a "tremendous study of this tremendous fish." [Bruns K92, Thacher p. 305]
