About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1961. A first edition, first printing, published by Heinemann in 1961. A near fine book without inscriptions. Some slight browning to the text block, however, clean internally. Binding is a little loose. Slight bumping and fading to the spine tips. In a like unclipped wrapper showing wear to the corners, edges and spine. One small closed tear to the bottom edge of the back cover. Only discovered after his death, the linked novellas of Stephen Morris and Pilotage are the first novels Shute wrote in the early 1920s.
