About This Item

New York: Putnam, 1976. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. There is a gift inscription to a former owner (Christmas 1979) on the front free end paper, but no other marks or use. The white covers are fresh, with minor wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but is otherwise in excellent condition, again with minor wear at edges and folds. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: This is the story of a girl who has been moved too often in her life putting down roots and finding her place. "When Lissa arrived at Pine Barrens, she wanted to go straight back to Brooklyn. Even though she knew her mom, Barbara wanted to make pottery, and her dad, Nils, wanted to write, she couldn't understand why they had to be stuck in an isolated cabin in the South Jersey woods". When she makes a friend of Jess, a neighbour boy, and meets Mrs. G, who has probably read just about every book ever written, she starts to understand and love her new home.
