London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1892. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition in English, first printing. Publisher's white cloth stamped with floral pattern, repeated on edges and endsheets, title page printed in red and black. Very Good. Cloth rubbed and faded, spine creased and worn at the ends. Lean to binding. Front inner hinge exposed and tender. Previous owner details to verso of front free end paper. Pinocchio first appeared serialized in an Italian children's magazine which ran from 1881-1883, and in book form in 1883. This is the first time the children's classic was published in the English language, translated from the Italian by M. A. Murray, with illustrations by C. Mazzanti.
