London: Ellis and White, 1877. Full red polished calf, raised bands, gilt titles, elaborately tooled in gilt front and rear boards, all edges gilt, silk page marker. (7 3/4" x 6"). pp. vii, 392, 8vo. First edition of Morris's Icelandic epic, his longest and most ambitious poem. Previous owner's inscription dated Christmas Day 1877. Minor wear to foot and lower tips, expected page toning, remains a desirable copy in a handsome fine binding. Size: Octavo. First Edition.. Leather. Near Fine.
