About This Item

BOOK CLUB EDITION, 4th printing Dec 1986, black cloth spine, gold lettering with cream color paper over boards. Unread tightness, very square, and very clean. The only defect is the starting to age-toned text pages.

DJ: has rubbing mainly to the edges and a removed sticker lifting Memphis from the spine(this title runs the length of the spine so 2 inches is affected), minor soiling, and minor chipping to the spine ends and some corners. This DJ is very fragile and easily damaged on many. Nice GAP FILLER, better without DJ(store it).

Synopsis

A Summons to Memphis is a 1986 novel by Peter Taylor which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1987. It is the recollection of Phillip Carver, a middle aged editor from New York City, who is summoned back to Memphis by his two conniving unmarried sisters to help them prevent the marriage of their elderly father to a younger woman.

I am a private collector, mainly Pulitzer Prize winners, but I inherited 1000's of hardcovers and looking to sell them off. I will be relocating in the near future, and need to lighten the load.
