Subtle discoloration and some gentle nudging to spine ends, else Near Fine, with the topstain bright and unfaded. Dustjacket is gently spine-sunned, lightly shelfworn, with a few shallow nicks and short tears to spine ends and extremities, and a 1.25" closed tear at lower front flap fold; Very Good+. Hemingway's great Lost Generation novel about a group of American and British expatriates who travel from Paris to Spain. The pictorial jacket, which depicts a flapper in a sleeveless green dress, was reportedly Hemingway's favorite among all his books, and he was quoted saying he preferred it to that of the original edition published by Scribner's. An odd variant, retaining the spelling error on p.169, but misprinting his last name on the spine. A stunning copy of a key Hemingway title, and a high-point of Art Deco dustjacket design.
