About This Item
New York: J. S. Ogilvie Publishing Company, 1906. Paperback. 119p., line illustrations throughout the text, softbound, 7.5x5 inch staplebound textblock in paste-fastened wraps, very toned, acidic and fragile. Wraps are detached and chipped, a reading copy. Run-on gags by a Henny Youngman incarnation (our era's is better); no copies listed by OCLC as of March 2015. Illustrations are credited in plate to "Allan;" these are competent, strange (hands are drawn huge!) and wholly silly, except that the cover vignette betrays a Harrison Fisher influence. Publisher's ads on the last leaves and back cover, where we find that Ogilvie offers The Kreutzer Sonata as well as Ten True Secret Service Detective Stories.
