London: R. Gosling, 1719. Leather. Very Good. 8" by 5". Not stated. An incredibly scarce published survey of the cathedral of Landaff written by Browne Willis, handsomely bound in full calf. A fascinating early eighteenth-century work on the cathedral of Landaff, containing descriptions of the monuments, bishops, burial places, epitaphs, and more. A very scarce historical account. Including two folding plates, collated and complete. Written by Browne Willis (1682-1760) a British antiquary and politician. He was elected to the House of Commons for Buckingham in 1705. Containing an ink signature of a previous owner to the front free-endpaper: 'Elizabeth Lewis'. This copy came from the library at Julians Park, Hertfordshire, the previous home of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie (1902-1968).
