About This Item

Just in time for the holidays, a cookbook with all the traditional Swedish dishes! Impress your family and friends with a "Smörgåsbord" of desserts, breads, pastries, and cookies. Whether your heritage is Swedish, or not, this is a great cookbook for any home chef that is interested in Swedish culinary art or as a gift for someone that is.

Condition: Bright red textured; flexible hardcover boards are blind stamped with an assortment of foods in white. Overall, the spine and boards are in excellent condition as this book may never have seen a kitchen. The bright yellow dustjacket with a photograph of food to the front with black text to the front and rear of symbols for the provinces, or landskap, has minimal wear at the top and bottom of the back strip with some edge wear to the top, bottom, and corners. There is no wear or damage to the back strip or board edges. The corners were slightly rounded at publication and show no wear or damage. Spine is straight and hinges are firm with no cracking to the endpapers. Text block is solid with all pages firmly attached. Slight age tanning throughout. Filled with color and black and white photographs throughout. All interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks, or previous owner marks.

First published in 1947 "The idea of the book won first prize in its group in a tourist souvenir contest sponsored by the Swedish Tourist Traffic Association, the Swedish Handicrafts Association, and the AB Nordiska Kompaniet (Companty), Stockholm, in 1946"
