Description

London: J.M. Dent, 1965. 230 pp, 9" H, teale green cloth with gilt lettering/decoration on spine, gilt 'duck in flight' on front board, top edge of textblock dark green. B&w illustrations throughout. The author/illustrator describes his leisurely journey down the Thames, from the designing and building of his boat, The Willow, through excursions to churches, woodlands, pubs, etc. along the banks, his delightful observations (both in words and drawings) of the flora and fauna he encounters along the way, and with the occasional foray into his memories of people, places and events from the past. The remains of a small Xmas sticker (holly leaves/berries) on front free endpaper, slight yellowing to the free endpapers, two very small corner bumps, minor wrinkling at the top/bottom of the spine. Dust jacket has very light edge wear, one small edge tear, light wrinkling at the top/bottom of the spine/flap-folds, three tiny dents at the bottom of the front panel, slight fading to the spine colour, now protected in a removable mylar sleeve.. Not Signed. Reprint.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good-. Illus. by Robert Gibbings..
