First US Edition of the reprinted 1896 edition is a Hebrew Book of Magic from the original 13th or 14th century manuscript in which Moses Gaster translated the mystical text and first published his findings in 1896 which was from this own collection. "The Sword of Moses: An Ancient Book of Magic" by Moses Gaster is a significant work in the field of mysticism and magical literature. The book includes an introduction, a translation of the ancient text, an index of mystical names, various invocations, spells, prayers, and a facsimile of the original manuscript to see the text in its original form. This Edition is in the original bright Green glossy board with gilt stamping on the front and spine in near fine condition. All pages bright and clean with very slight shelf wear and toning on the pages. Octavo with 52, xxxv pages facsimile. First half in English and back section text in Aramaic and Hebrew. Published without any dust jacket. A must for any esoteric collector. These copies are hard to find in such good condition and is a pivotal work for those interested in ancient magical practices, Hebrew mysticism, and the historical context of magical texts.
