Morocco-grained dark blue cloth, gilt title within a bright gilt floral cartouche to upper and lower covers, flat-back with ornate gilt design, gilt patterned endpapers, all edges gilt. Name-plate of Payson G. Gates, 19th-century Romantic scholar and outstanding collector, to verso of front free endpaper. Rebacked with original spinestrip laiddown. A very good, bright, tight copy.
