New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1969. Hardcover. Small 4to. Blue cloth, pictorial dust jacket. x, 327pp, iv. Numerous illustrations, figures. Near fine/very good. Slight jacket edgewear, with small chip at center of rear panel. Tight and lovely first edition of this (to cite front jacket panel) "uniquely concrete book [that] teaches the angler how to 'read' trout water and, with the help of numerous precise procedural drawings, exactly how to wade, cast, and fish out each of 33 different, but typical, kinds of trout pools." Tiny ownership name/address inkstamp on front flyleaf of, appropriately, a fish and game warden.
