Just a hint of shelf/edge wear to orange textured cloth boards (they look like leather) with black titles - corners sharp. Signed inscription from the author to the previous owner (Bob Neumayer) on the half title page. Minor shelf/edge wear, tiny chipping to DJ spine edges and several small closed tears to unclipped DJ - now in mylar. Other than the signed inscription, there are no other markings in the book. All pages are clean and crisp. Tale of a Tiger takes the reader on wild and hazardous flights into Burma and China, told by one of the leading aces of the Hell's Angels squadron who was involved from beginning to end. Smith's diary is reproduced in its original form, exactly as written at the time, with a generous helping of interesting and insightful footnotes. Dozens of photos,many never before published. Complete roster of the AVG at rear of book. A very interesting addition to the collection of books dealing with the China, Burma, Indian (CBI) theater in WW2. A superb signed First Edition.
