London: Macmillan & Co, 1871. First edition. Two volumes. 8vo. xii, 277; vi, (2), 272 pp. 31 plates; erratum slip tipped in. Large engraved bookplates of Johann & Dora Kruse in each volume; Kruse (1859-1927) was an Australian violinist and conductor. Later red three-quarter morocco and marbled boards (corners rubbed), gilt titles, by J. & E. Bumpus, Oxford. Scattered light foxing, but a very good copy in an attractive binding.
