Kimber Pocket Editions, London, 1961. First Paperback Edition. Softcover. Good Condition. foreword and acknowledgements by authors. Colour illustrated card cover with black and red coloured titles to the front panel and white and yellow coloured titles to the backstrip. Quoting the Daily Telegraph from the rear panel "... Taranto was a supreme justification of the Fleet Air Arm, for this was the first time such a sea action was wholly made by aircraft. In this famous action  undoubtedly one of the most important battles of the war  the Italian fleet was knocked out of this struggle." The date?  November 11th, 1940. The aircraft carrier?  H. M. S. Illustrious. Creasing to the book corners with a little chipping to the backstrip corners. Rubbing of the book panels and edges with a small tear to the lower edge of the front panel. Large triangular crease to the lower right hand corner of the front panel. Browning of the text block edges and pages. Rubber stamp, previous owners, to the top edge of the front panel and half title page. The top right hand corner of the half title page has been clipped.
